I was thrilled she was able to come to the festival so recently in 2016, our 25th anniversary year . She was unfailingly cheerful and appreciative; many asked about her this year. She will be much missed. I will always remember her brightness and liveliness and her huge smile.

We will miss Christine's warm and engaging personality, her sense of humour and her steadfast friendship. She leaves us with admiration for her courage in her final illness and the triumph of attaining her 90th birthday in June. In recent years July was probably her favourite month when she enjoyed the magic of the Darlington Festival, the excitement of the tennis at Wimbledon and the annual reunion with her ex-PMVHS friends. She will be sadly missed by so many people. Judy and Dick Bird
